I was somewhat recently shown a house that was owned by two kindly old ladies. They had kept the lawn and interior in immaculate condition. However, being a ridiculous individual, the excellent upkeep wasn't what really caught my attention. This house had a bizarre carport-turned-sunroom, encased in what appeared to be glass from a strip mall.
Naturally, I asked "Does that glass open?"
The realtor replied "Yep, it slides open. The front is a giant door."
I then proclaimed "I will put a car in this!"
And I did, and it's awesome.
The End.

These kindly old ladies have a Baja Bug, and you haven't had them adopt you yet?

Your car is awesome. I don't like to envy, but I'm envious.

Awesome! I love it!

Awesome..and whats the thoughts behind the choice of rear to front tire size ratio on the Beetle? Also..I need a roof rack on mine -.-

Bueller?

That's sweet! Keep that Corolla away from your Tiny Garage/Museum piece, though.

It is awesome but whats with the mixed styles? Baja look to the rear, but has a roof rack and chrome dishes up front. Not dissing it just wondering.

Wasn't sure if my poor joke would stick haha

Does the entrance close? Or is it just like a super enclosed carport now?

It is the rare Type I Mullet edition- business in the front, party in the rear.

For a second, I was unsure of whether to explain Bueller, or laugh at your joke. Glad I had faith in you. But really, that garage was (is) the best.

Haha, thanks! I've got big plans for that tiny car.

Does it help if the Corolla's a standard? That being said, it's forever banished to the unprotected driveway

Who says Baja Bugs can't be practical?
![]() 04/02/2014 at 19:39 |

We talked it over, and decided it's much easier if I just adopt their house. Something about me being an adult or similar nonsense. If they saw how much I love Legos maybe they would've changed their minds...

It does! Good thing too. It gets pretty cold here in the winter, and all the glass helps keep it at a tolerable temperature most of the time,

Actually, the wheel sizes are the same as when I bought it. I guess the previous owner was going for a drag car kind of look, but I have grown fond of the cartoonish look of the whole thing. However, my big dream is to set it up to race in Targa Newfoundland at some point. Those roof racks are, if I may use a technical term, off the hook. Definitely should hunt one down if you can

I'm Okay With This, It Really Draws You In. Like Everything Is Important.

I never even hinted to that. I would totally DD a baja.. I even might.
![]() 04/02/2014 at 19:48 |

Haha, it's true, kind of a frankenbeetle. The wheels and roof rack are unchanged from how the previous owner had it. I kind of enjoyed the overall look, so I kept them for now.

Haha, yes! Thankfully the glass portions aren't overlooking any steep inclines, so if I do something stupid only the glass is shattered instead of my dreams
![]() 04/02/2014 at 20:28 |

Well, it helps that you call it a "standard" and not a "no - cost option" :)
![]() 04/02/2014 at 20:33 |

Haha, the roll up windows, now those are a no cost option!

Odd, lol, and nice :) I might have too, but I've got a friend offering to build me a custom one for the price of materials, mainly wanting one as a means to transport my bicycle longer distances than I am willing to ride
![]() 04/02/2014 at 21:02 |

Nice, that's a pretty sweet deal! Definitely take them up on that. Haha, yep, that's a legitimate use. Hopefully this summer I can finally get a bicycle and start doing the same thing.

I just got mine a few days ago :) It's got a retro ish paint job, should look awesome on the roof of my Beetle :D..wrong colors but oh well! lol, the Beetle is red, the bike is..white, blue, green and chrome, haha
![]() 04/02/2014 at 21:29 |

Haha, maybe the color clash will just add to the overall awesomeness. It'll be a retro explosion. I think you'll totally pull it off.

Its like a more attainable version of the Garage in Ferris Buellers Day Off.

I need to enroll in something with classes, and then skip them, steal my car, and go on a random adventure so I get the true experience.

that's freaking awesome, no wonder you don't want my house!

Haha, thanks! The house and car are basically my precious. Totally lucked into finding both.
